Get ready to spread some light and love! Kids will use their creativity to make one-of-a-kind lanterns out of upcycled materials with the help of staff at Cloud 9 Workshop.
KIC kids will bring their light and these lanterns to older adults at a local assisted living or nursing home in November for apple cider, stories and connection. We hope you can join us then as well to deliver your lantern! This project is a fun way for families to craft together, share smiles, and brighten the lives of our senior friends.
Activities
We will kick off our time together reading an engaging story featuring older characters that highlight the wisdom, joy and value of intergenerational friendships. Next, kids and their caregivers will get to work creating the lanterns.
Impact
This project will help our kids understand how even small gestures can remind older adults that they are seen, valued and celebrated.
