Be a Helper at RampUp Red Arrow Park with The Ability Center

Hosted by our partner The Ability Center (TAC), RampUp Red Arrow Park is a planned outdoor community gathering dedicated to sharing ice sleds as an alternative to ice skates at Slice of Ice at Red Arrow Park. Come try out the equipment, sip some hot cocoa, and then return anytime to Red Arrow Park to enjoy free rentals!

Activities

TAC needs help to:

  • – Unload tent, equipment from the truck
  • – Bring sleds from storage area, set-up TAC tent, etc.
  • – Fill up hot water at concessions
  • – Serve hot chocolate
  • – Welcome attendees/distribute TAC flyers
  • – Assist with sleds on/off the sleds and onto the ice
  • – Clean up / load truck

Kids (and adults) are also welcome to skate, and try the ice sleds throughout the event.

Impact

Kids will get to use their time and love to support our partner organization (The Ability Center) to make a positive difference in the lives of Milwaukee citizens of all abilities while having fun at the RampUp Red Arrow Park – Annual Ice Sled Event outing.

When & Where

Saturday, January 10 from 12:45-3:15 p.m.

  • – Specifically, TAC is looking for 2-3 families to assist with the first half of the event from 12:45 p.m. and another 2-3 families to assist with the second half of the event from 2-3:15 p.m. We will assign various jobs to families at the event.

Registration Information

Participant Cap: 6 families

Age: All ages.

Cost: Free

Materials: Please wear weather-appropriate, comfortable shoes and clothes.

Cancellations: We count on our registered volunteers to make these projects come to life. However, we understand illness and emergencies do come up so if you can no longer participate, please email lynn@kicmke.org ASAP so we can fill your spot.
