Purpose

Immerse your child in an environment where they will experience how their capabilities can help others and be mentored in acts of dignity and grace by those very same people. The Kinship Community Food Center embodies its motto: In a community of generosity everyone gives and everyone receives.

Impact

Kids will have the opportunity to learn more about food insecurity, the importance of nutritional meals, and how they can help!

Activities

You and your child will assist shoppers at St. Casimir’s Parish Hall with registration and grocery selection, by carrying bags, serving snacks, and helping clean up. Hands-on orientation and assignments will be given upon arrival.

We will also be collecting reusable bags to donate to the pantry. Their goal is to eliminate as many plastic shopping bags as possible. If you have extra reusable bags at home, please consider bringing some with you to donate.

When and Where

Tuesday, May 9th  from 3:30-6 p.m.

St. Casimir’s Parish Hall

924 E. Clarke St.

The hall is located on the basement level of the school building behind Our Lady of Divine Providence Parish/St. Casimir. Volunteer entrance doors are on the west side of the building in the alley between the church and school. On Tuesday afternoons, they ask that volunteers find street parking (on Clarke or Weil) as the lot is reserved for shoppers.
