Spring Yard Clean Up for Seniors 2024

REGISTER HERE

The Eras Senior Network is asking for help from KIC volunteers this spring! This will be our 9th year participating in their yard clean-up event.

Activities

They need volunteers to help with cleaning up after the winter – raking leaves, cleaning flower beds, trimming bushes, etc. This can be a project for you as an individual or a group! Do it on your own or gather your friends and family to make a difference in the lives of local seniors.

We understand the attention of each child is different – so rest breaks are encouraged to make this meaningful AND fun! It is a one-time visit and would not need to be done on a specific day but whenever is convenient for you and the client. You are welcome to wait for a warmer, dryer day in the future – which will hopefully be the end of April/early May.

We will connect you with a senior resident and you will communicate with them on when works for you to visit.

Impact

Your children will get the opportunity to see the results of their efforts in these seniors’ lives. (Enjoying the beautiful spring weather and allowing the kids to burn off extra energy will be a bonus, as well!) We hope that all of the children participating will see that hard work pays off and that they too can have an impact on the lives of Milwaukee’s most vulnerable.

When & Where

Exact addresses in Milwaukee County will be given once registration is complete for the sake of confidentiality. We will make every attempt to assign you a home close to your residence. We will give you a phone number to directly contact the homeowner before your visit.

If you would like to partner with another KIC family on your assigned “grandfriends” home, please indicate the KIC partner family’s name in the registration.
