Packing Rescued Food

REGISTER HERE

In Wisconsin, 1 in 10 households are struggling with hunger, impacting people of all ages. Following the pandemic, food pantries across Wisconsin are still reporting increased demand alongside lower-stocked shelves. This is a problem as pandemic-related benefits end and food prices continue to increase due to inflation.

Just One More Ministry, located in Glendale, is an organization that rescues excess food from area restaurants, food suppliers, and caterers, and redistributes it to over 90 shelters, food pantries, and community members in need. We have been packing lunches monthly for Just One More Ministry for the past three years. We can’t wait to invite your kids into their building to help prepare outreach bags and see another aspect of their work.

Activities

The pantry is set up like a mini supermarket. You and your children will work to assemble outreach bags, grabbing the necessary items from the pantry and large walk-in refrigerators.

Impact

For children to grow in awareness of their capability to help others when their community needs it most.
