Invite your kids and their friends to take the lead on engaging the whole neighborhood in a collection drive at your summer block party!
KIC has put together a series of collection drives to choose from. Ask your kids to decide which drive they would like to support. Learn more about these organizations below:
- – Diaper Drive for Milwaukee Diaper Mission
- – Hygiene Drive for Life Navigators Disability Support Services
- – Food Drive for Kinship Community Food Center
- – School Supply Drive for Our Next Generation (needs to be completed by August 4)
Activities
Once a supply drive has been chosen, encourage your children to create a flyer or use one of our templates (which will be sent following registration) to spread the word alongside your block party invitation. Have them also make a fun poster to label your collection bin and put it out at the block party. After the party is over, count the number of donations they collected and let us know where you landed.
KIC will then put you in contact with the right people at our partner organization to facilitate a drop-off.
Impact
Your kids will get to use their energy and passion to make a real difference for people in our broader community. They will learn how to engage their circle of neighbors, friends, and families to support community members in need.

Our Partner
Hygiene Drive: Life Navigators was founded by parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, their families, and the community.
School Supply Drive: Our Next Generation, located in one of Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods, is focused on improving educational outcomes and life skills through providing after-school and summer academic enrichment and personal development programming for more than 1,000 youth and their families.
Diaper Drive: Milwaukee Diaper Mission empowers families in need by providing a reliable source of free diapers and period products. Diapers are a necessity, not a luxury, yet one in two families struggle to afford diapers on a regular basis.
Food Drive: Kinship Community Food Center engages volunteers and neighborhood residents to end hunger, isolation, and poverty. Their innovative programs nourish food security and wellness, foster belonging and community engagement, and empower stability and economic prosperity in our city.
