Join a hands-on family volunteer experience serving guests, assisting with shopping, and helping organize pantry items at the Jewish Community Pantry.
Did you know? Nearly 1 in 6 people in Milwaukee experience food insecurity, meaning they don’t always know where their next meal will come from. Your time and effort can make a direct and meaningful difference for neighbors in our community. The Jewish Community Pantry provides essential groceries and support to individuals and families in need across the Milwaukee area.

Activities

Volunteers may help with welcoming guests, assisting as they shop for groceries, stocking shelves, organizing food items, and general pantry support. Tasks are designed to be family-friendly and accessible for a variety of ages. Older kids and stronger adults might be motivated to organize pantry items.

Impact

Kids and families will learn about food insecurity while actively supporting the pantry. This is a great opportunity to build empathy, practice kindness, and engage in community service together. Food insecurity in our community is real and working at the pantry makes a big difference for families in the heart of our community. By volunteering, families help ensure that community members have access to nutritious food in a respectful, supportive environment. It’s also a chance to spark important conversations about helping others and giving back locally.
