In honor of Earth Day, let’s celebrate Mother Nature and all her glory by spending some time outside working at Kinship Urban Farm. Kinship Hoop Houses provide fresh and local food to those in need. Let’s prepare the hoop houses for the spring season and healthy fruits and veggies this summer!

The food goes directly to Kinship Community Food Center, and is then donated to families throughout our area. This project is a fun, hands-on experience. This even kicks off our gardeing season at Kinship, we are there Saturday mornings through September!

Activities

Kids and families will help prepare hoop houses for the gardening season. Activities may include shoveling, moving dirt, planting seeds, general maintenance to the site, a story, and lots of fun!

Impact

Let’s teach our kids about food insecurity in our local community and how they can help. Learn how to take care of our Earth and grow food – skills you can take back to your house and share in your community. Plus a little outside gardening, hanging with other cool local families, and physical activity is healthy too!
