KIC kids and their caregivers will assemble winter hygiene kits and breakfast on-the-go bags during our Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service program to distribute to Milwaukee residents living with housing insecurity.
Every Saturday morning, volunteers from Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge gather at Kosciuszko Park to serve Milwaukee residents in need of additional support. They provide necessities such as food, hygiene items, clothing, and access to bathe in a mobile shower trailer. Alongside the basics, the volunteers provide warm coffee and snacks, encouraging fellowship and emotional support while creating a sense of community.
Activities
Your family will distribute our winter hygiene kits to the men, women, and children who visit the weekly Saturday morning outreach program. You may also have the opportunity to help distribute clothing and blankets or serve coffee and snacks.
Impact
Your children will gain firsthand experience with Milwaukee residents living with housing insecurity and learn that they can make a big difference and help create change in their community by spreading warmth and love throughout Milwaukee.
