Join Kids Impact Community for an all-ages, family-friendly morning of learning and service in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including a special guest speaker from Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge, story time, music, movement, and various on-site service projects. Together we will bring MLK’s National Day of Service to life in a way that even the youngest children can understand.
As a way to further engage your kids before and during the project, we invite your family to pick out and purchase items to help fill our winter hygiene kits and on-the-go breakfast bags for Milwaukee residents living with housing insecurity. A sign-up will be included in your confirmation email. Bringing an item is not required to attend and participate.
Activities
On this National Day of Service, we will engage our children as dynamic and change-making citizens. After gathering together to learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we will read a story and have an all-ages discussion about housing insecurity with our guest speaker from Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge. Then, we will get to work on a variety of service projects.
All Ages
-
- Decorate care cards and assemble on-the-go winter hygiene kits
- Embellish paper bags with positive messages and put together on-the-go breakfast bags

- Create a take-home craft as a reminder of MLK Day
- Participate in additional service project stations that capture your interest

Our Partner
Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge volunteers gather at Kosciuszko Park each Saturday morning to serve Milwaukee residents living with housing insecurity. They provide necessities such as food, hygiene items, clothing, and access to bathe in a mobile shower trailer. Perhaps just as important, the volunteers offer fellowship and emotional support while creating a sense of community alongside warm coffee and snacks. Learn more on their website.
