April Showers of Love: Help Receive and Sort Donations

April Showers of Love: Help Receive and Sort Donations

When

April 17, 2026 - May 1, 2026
9:00 am - 11:00 am

Event Type

From maternity clothing to baby gear to toddler necessities – expanding your family requires a lot of new stuff! Together we can help gather the essential gear for growing families in our community.

All donated items will be distributed at the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation’s (CAFF) Family Day. This event will bring together growing and expecting families currently living on a limited income for a day of joy, community connection, and essential support. Each participating family will receive basic necessities, children’s clothing, and baby gear to help them raise healthy children.

Activities

Staff the donation drive drop-off. Welcome families as they arrive and help them sort their donations according to item type/clothing size. Items may include clothes, diapers, bottles, formula, toys, books and more. Help organize the baby boutique where expecting parents will shop for items they need to welcome their new little one home.

For slower periods, we will have a mini art project available for your kids to work on. Their projects will be gifted to seniors at an upcoming Intergenerational Playgroup.

Bring donations with you!

Impact

Kids will learn the value of a circular economy through giving baby and toddler essentials a second life with families who need them. They’ll gain hands-on experience sorting, organizing, and setting up a welcoming “shop,” while building empathy, teamwork, and an understanding of how sharing resources supports both people and the planet.
