KIC families have the opportunity to provide some light to community members going through cancer treatments at Aurora Healthcare Cancer Clinics. Unfortunately, many families have been affected by cancer in one way or another. And one in every four patients diagnosed with cancer in Wisconsin is treated at an Aurora Cancer Care—it is the largest cancer program in the state.
Activities
Families will listen to an age-appropriate book about cancer and then work together to pack care packages and create inspirational cards to go with them.
Be sure to check out the Sketchbook Creations for Cancer Care Kits event on Feb. 10 as well. The sketchbooks created at this event will be included in these care packages.
Impact
Kids will get to use their unique talents to bring cheer to patients in Aurora Healthcare Cancer Clinics. The patients at Aurora Healthcare will be provided with some basic necessities and the knowledge that they aren’t alone.
