Thank you to the families who participated in our partnership with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission, it was a huge success. We packaged approximately 15,0000 diapers either in person or at home. Milwaukee Diaper Mission acts as Milwaukee’s basic needs bank, partnering with local social service agencies to provide a reliable source of basic essentials for the families they serve.
We are so grateful for the families who participated in this project with Great Lakes Hospice! Our KIC families tied over 20 blankets that were delivered to the residents at this location. The blankets were full of color and several included a special hand written note from the kids who worked hard to tie each strand! The hospice coordinator was so happy to receive them all and said the blankets will bring a smile those who are comforted by them and most likely will remind them of their own grandchildren!
KIC Families! You did it again! We delivered hundreds of books to Next Door MKE because of your generous donations. We are so pleased to get books into the hands of children and teachers all over Milwaukee with this partnership.
An extra special thank you to the strong families who carried the books to the doorstep of Next Door MKE – Angie Stowe, Sarah Vinson, Annie Turim, Erin Lemoine, Jobea Murray and Lynn Raines.
We may be physically distant, but we sure can make difference in our community in thoughtful ways!
A big shout out to the more than 50 KIC families who have helped us deliver 1300+ lunches to Just One More Ministry since May. Thank you for helping combat food insecurity in Milwaukee. You nourished the body and heart. The recipients so appreciate your notes of encouragement.
We had a wonderful morning harvesting vegetables for Groundwork Milwaukee at the Hoop Houses on Tuesday, September 1! Two families joined us for the morning with two 4 years olds and a 6 year old! We started out picking over 30 pounds of cherry tomatoes and ended the morning with harvesting almost 10 pounds of kale! All produce was then packed into a van that takes it to the Riverwest Food Pantry to be distributed to families in need. This was a fun project to stay socially distant and yet make a big impact in our community!
