Women’s Center Dinner Service
February 21 @ 5:15 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us in preparing and serving a hot dinner to women and their children (about 50 total) staying at the Women’s Center Shelter.
DESCRIPTION: Founded in 1980, the Milwaukee Women’s Center provides comprehensive services and treatment for women, men, and children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence, addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, and poverty.
PURPOSE: Kids and their caregivers will help prepare a meal at the shelter, then serve food and help brighten the evening of families staying at the shelter.
IMPACT: Kids will see that serving others can be fun and that they are capable of making a difference.
ACTIVITIES: Our volunteer group of children and caregivers will serve dinner to about 20 women and their children staying at the shelter at the Milwaukee Women’s Center. Kids Impact Community will be bringing food to prepare on-site. You can sign up to bring some ingredients needed. There is a kitchen at the center where we will prep the meal service. Then we will serve dinner to approximately 20 women and 30 children. Following the meal, we will clean up.
