SUMMARY:Warm Hands\, Warm Hearts: Winter Kit Pack with SSP and WMAN
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nChildren will pack winter kit packs for individu
 als in the Waukesha Community who are facing homelessness.\nThey will rece
 ive these kits through the Stone Soup Project at one of their dinner servi
 ces or at\nWaukesha Mutual Aid Network’s Community Food Share.\nActiviti
 es\nWe will begin with an interactive story time and songs. During this ti
 me\, we will read an age-appropriate book that introduces the topic of hom
 elessness and helps children understand the experiences of individuals fac
 ing housing insecurity.\n\nNext\, participants will decorate inspirational
  notecards to include in the winter kits. These cards will contain encoura
 ging messages meant to uplift individuals who receive the kits. Afterward\
 , we will work together in an assembly line to pack bags with hats\, mitte
 ns\, blankets\, socks\, and hand and feet warmers. These kits will be dist
 ributed to individuals during dinner service at the Stone Soup Project or 
 at Waukesha Mutual Aid Network’s Community Food Share\, supporting commu
 nity members experiencing homelessness.\nImpact\nParticipating in this ser
 vice activity helps volunteers better understand the challenges faced by i
 ndividuals experiencing homelessness while also showing how small acts of 
 kindness can make a meaningful difference.\n\nWorking together to prepare 
 the kits for distribution through the Stone Soup Project and Waukesha Mutu
 al Aid Network reinforces the importance of community support\, compassion

 used or new hats\, gloves\, scarves\, and blankets\, that would be greatly
  appreciated! If you bring used items\, please launder these items prior t
 o the event. Otherwise\, you can purchase items from the Amazon List if yo

 ct (SSP) is a community-based meal program in Waukesha\, Wisconsin\, dedic
 ated to ensuring that no neighbor goes hungry. What began as one person de
 livering meals to individuals in need has grown into a collaborative effor
 t that provides hot\, home-style meals to anyone who is hungry. Meals are 
 served three days a week—Tuesday\, Wednesday\, and Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
 —from a central distribution site at 409 E. Main Street. The program is 
 powered by volunteers and community donations\, bringing people together i
 n the spirit of shared responsibility and compassion. Learn more about the
  Stone Soup Project.\n\nWaukesha Mutual Aid Network (WMAN) is a growing co
 llective of local community members. Their mission is to work together to 
 meet the needs of the community through shared resources\, education\, ski
 lls\, and support. WMAN hosts monthly community food shares which is “br
 ing what you can\, take what you need” which helps break down any barrie
 rs for individuals in need and gives them direct access to food and hygien

 ' Week\nThis project is just one of the events in Young Changemakers’ We
 ek. This week includes a variety of service opportunities that are designe
 d to ignite a passion for service in our youngest community members (ages
