SUMMARY:Support Seniors in the Walk to End Alzheimer's with Treat Bags and
 Signs
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nYour kids will work with grandfriends in the mem
ory care unit at Hamilton House to create posters encouraging residents pa
rticipating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. These posters will generate in
terest in the walk amongst residents and hopefully recruit more walkers.\n
\nActivities\nWe will open with a hello song to break the ice and introduc
e ourselves to our grandfriends followed by craft time. Then we will spend
time together listening to music and chatting while we create the posters
.\n\nWe will also assemble snack bags to distribute to Hamilton House walk
ers at the end of the walk. If you are able\, we'd love help gathering sup
plies such as granola bars\, meat sticks\, mini water bottles or a snack m
ix to include in the snack bags! Add your family name next to the item you
wish to bring here. At the end of our time together we will tidy the spac
e and sing our goodbye song.\n\nIf you'd like to join the Hamilton House T
eam to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Port Washington on Oc
tober 4 -  Sign up here!\n\nOn the day of the walk\, we will also take vo
lunteers to hold signs to encourage walkers. We'll meet up before the walk
to decorate support posters to encourage walkers along the route. More de
tails to come!\n\nImpact\nIntergenerational playgroups give children a tru
e inter-generational experience while learning patience\, kindness and the
skills to make new friends. Children will develop awareness and relations
hips with members of the community they would otherwise not meet. \n\nOur
friends at Hamilton House benefit tremendously from the interaction with o
ur children. Residents in the memory care unit of Hamilton House will have
a chance to be around our energetic and humorous littles and offer their
love and gentle care for them.  All the participants in this group will g
et to use their unique talents to bring cheer to walkers participating in
 the Alzheimer's walk.\nWhen &amp\; Where\nMonday\, Sept. 15 from 1:30-2:30
