DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\nWork with your child at the Kinship Community Foo
 d Center (formerly called Riverwest Food Pantry) – an organization focus
 ed on coming together around food to relieve hunger\, improve lives\, and 
 grow community well-being. While their name has changed\, their mission is
  still the same! Kinship empowers residents to create nourishment\, belong
 ing\, and prosperity in low-income communities through the power of food.\
 nActivities\nYou and your child will assist shoppers with registration and
  grocery selection\, help shoppers carry bags\, serve snacks\, share food 
 with shoppers\, and clean up. Hands-on orientation and assignments are giv
 en upon arrival.\nPart way through Saturday morning\, Kinship staff will l
 ead a short conversation called “Face of Hunger’ to help participants 
 understand food insecurity in Milwaukee\, how the food center works\, and 
 why its mission matters to the community.\nThe shelves at Kinship are pret
 ty empty right now. Please consider bringing a donation of non-perishable 
 food items with you to help stock their shelves. We will also be collectin
 g reusable bags to donate to the pantry. Their goal is to eliminate as man
 y plastic shopping bags as possible. If you have extra reusable bags at ho
 me\, please consider bringing some with you to donate!\n\nImpact\nHelp to 
 eliminate food insecurity in Milwaukee and dissolve barriers of division a
 s the community comes together at a common table. Your child will be immer
 sed in an environment where they will experience their capabilities to hel
 p others and also be mentored in acts of dignity and grace by those very s
 ame people. Kinship Community Food Center embodies its motto: In a communi
 ty of generosity everyone gives and everyone receives!\nWhen &amp\; Where\
 nSaturday\, July 20 from 7:45-11 a.m.\nSt. Casimir’s Parish Hall\n924 E.
  Clarke St.\nThe hall is located on the basement level of the school build
 ing behind Our Lady of Divine Providence Parish/St. Casimir. Volunteer ent
 rance doors are on the west side of the building in the alley between the 
 church and the school. On Tuesday afternoons we ask that volunteers find s
 treet parking (on Clarke or Weil) as the lot is reserved for shoppers.\n\n
 Registration Information\nParticipant Cap: 10 volunteers\n\nAge: 6 years a
 nd older\n\nAttire: Please dress casually with closed-toe shoes and keep a
 ll your valuables at home. Wear your Kids Impact Community shirt if you ha
 ve one.\n\nCost: Free. Kinship Community Food Center does accept non-peri
 shable food donations if your family would like to bring something to dona
