SUMMARY:Paw Power: Learn About Safe Dog Interactions & Create Tug Toys
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nKids and adults don't always approach and pet do
 gs in a safe way. KIC Junior Leader Maddie (age 10) would like to change t
 hat with a mini-lesson with a dog expert!\n\nActivities\nA dog expert from
  the Milwaukee Dog Training Club will lead a mini lesson on how to approac
 h a dog\, how to read dog body language\, and what to do if an unknown dog
  approaches you. You will also get to practice safely giving dogs a treat 
 to dogs in attendance.\nThen\, we will work together to make tug toys for 
 dogs currently living at the Humane Society by braiding and knotting fleec
 e fabric. We’ll have the supplies and teach you how to make the toys!\nO
 ptional: Your family is invited to bring other items from the Humane Socie
 ty’s wish list. We’ll deliver those items along with the tug toys.\n\n
 Impact\nIt will teach adults and kids alike how to approach dogs safely\, 
 minimizing bite incidents. We'll also be supporting dogs who don’t have 
 a home yet.\n\nWhen &amp\; Where\nSunday\, April 27 from 3-4:30 p.m.\nMilw
 aukee Dog Training Club\n2116 W. Cornell St.\, Milwaukee\n\nRegistration I

 ith the optional opportunity to donate pet supplies to the Humane Society\

 nThe Wisconsin Humane Society's mission is to make a difference for anima
 ls and the people who love them.\n\nJunior Leader Program\nKIC invites mor
 e youth leaders (ages 9-14) to create service opportunities to engage thei
 r peers and work on solutions in the community. If you know of a motivated
  youth who has an idea to make a positive contribution to our community\, 
 please have them learn more and complete a Junior Leader application.
