SUMMARY:Learn & Serve: Sensory Art Kit Project
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nImagine a world where every child feels seen\, u
nderstood and celebrated! This KIC family event is all about fostering emp
athy and building incredible friendships.\n\nIf your child knows at least
30 children\, there is likely an autistic one among them. People with auti
sm experience the world differently\, and it really helps “neurotypical
” children\, or those whose central nervous systems are developing as ex
pected\, to know what autism might look like in people they know or would
like to get to know.\nActivities\nJoin us for an engaging session with Che
lsea Budde\, a professional consultant and parent who’s been teaching ki
ds about autism acceptance for nearly two decades. Your child will gain ne
w knowledge and learn how to foster amazing friendships with all kinds of
brains! This presentation will be interactive and designed to be appropria
te for even our youngest kids ages 2-6 years old. Though younger kids are
welcome to join us as well!\n\nAfter our discussion\, we’ll roll up our
sleeves to create sensory art kits\, designed to bring joy and support to
children and families in St. Francis Children’s Center’s birth-to-thre
e program. It’s a powerful way to learn\, connect\, and give back. Your
child will get to take home a sensory bag too! \n\nAnd\, if we finish up
early - you are welcome to stay and play and make friends in the Family Ac
tivity Center play space.\nImpact\nThis project offers a wonderful way for
our young volunteers to build empathy\, flexibility and inclusive social
skills. They will learn about autism in a way that’s easy for children t
o understand. And\, they will create meaningful sensory art kits to suppor
 t the kids at SFCC!\nWhen &amp\; Where\nSunday\, November 2 from 3:30-5 p.
