Kinship’s shelves are currently quite bare\, making it difficult for them to fulfill their mission. They are in need of a variety of non-perishable food items for their guests. Kinship C ommunity Food Center engages volunteers and neighborhood residents to end hunger\, isolation\, and poverty. This project is inspired and designed by 9-year-old Zoe who saw a need in our community and seeks our help to fill the shelves at Kinship. It is the first of hopefully many in KIC's Junior Leader programs.\nActivities\nVisit houses in your neighborhood with your children to ask for donations to help fill the pantry shelves. Families m ay also choose to simply donate on their own without going door-to-door. O nce you register\, we will follow up with a detailed email that will inclu de specific dropoff locations\, a list of what general food items to colle ct\, and prepared documents to help set your children up for success.\nPur pose\nOur hope is that this event will be led by your children! We wish to give your children the opportunity to feel directly capable of making cha nge in our community. They will have the chance to learn about food insecu rity and how they have the power to help. By taking the lead\, your childr en will help provide food to those who cannot afford it themselves.\nImpac t\nIt is our hope that by participating in this event\,  children will le arn that even though they are small\, they can make a big impact on others \, and have fun doing it!\nWhen &\; Where\nYou will have from Sept. 5-1 5 to collect and drop off all donations at one of the designated collectio n sites located in these areas: \n\n \n\n Bayside\n Grafton\n Lannon\ n Milwaukee-Washington Heights \n Shorewood\n\n\n\nJoin our in-person s ervice project with Kinship Community Food Center on Sept. 19!
