\nOur playgroup will provide an opportunity to children\, parents\, and as
sisted living residents to interact and play with each other in a relaxed
and friendly environment. We will open with a hello song to break the ice
and introduce ourselves to the group. Then we will all work together creat
ing inspirational posters that will bring joy and comfort to children goin
g through cancer treatments at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Each fa
mily will also take turns handing out lemonade to Hamilton House residents
in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. \n\nWhat is Alex’s L
emonade Stand? Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (AL
SF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “
Alex” Scott\, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find
cures for all children with cancer. By the time Alex passed away at the ag
e of 8\, she had raised $1 million. Since then\, the Foundation bearing he
r name has evolved into a worldwide fundraising movement and the largest i
ndependent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. ALSF is a leader in fundin
g pediatric cancer research projects across the globe and providing progra
ms to families affected by childhood cancer. For more information\, visit
 AlexsLemonade.org.\nImpact\nIntergenerational playgroups boost the social
and emotional health for everyone involved by fostering empathy in childre
