DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nJoin KIC in supporting Alex's Lemonade Stand Fou
 ndation fundraiser! Give your child the opportunity to interact with assis
 ted living residents at Hamilton House in a relaxed\, friendly\, playful\,
  and organized environment. During the playgroup time\, they will take tur
 ns handing out lemonade to Hamilton House residents and anyone else who ch
 ooses to stop by for the fundraiser. Others will create posters that will 
 bring joy and comfort to a child going through cancer treatments at Childr
 en’s Hospital of Wisconsin.\n\nWhat is Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundatio
 n? Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lem
 onade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott\, who was fighting ca
 ncer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer.
  By the time Alex passed away at the age of 8\, she had raised $1 million.
  Since then\, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a worldwide
  fundraising movement and the largest independent childhood cancer charity
  in the U.S. ALSF is a leader in funding pediatric cancer research project
 s across the globe and providing programs to families affected by childhoo
 d cancer. For more information\, visit AlexsLemonade.org.\nActivities\nWe 
 will open with a hello song to break the ice and introduce ourselves to th
 e group\, and then begin our lemonade stand and craft time. The lemonade s
 tand will be held on the senor living side of Hamilton House\, close to th
 e check in desk. Posters will be created in a conference room area. Each f
 amily will have a turn serving lemonade. At the end of our time together\,
  the group will tidy the space before wrapping up and saying goodbye.\nImp
 act\nIntergenerational playgroups give children a true inter-generational 
 experience while learning patience\, kindness\, and how to make new friend
 s. Children will develop awareness of and relationships with members of th
 e community they would otherwise not meet. Our friends at Hamilton House b
 enefit tremendously from the interaction with our children. Residents in t
 he memory care unit of Hamilton House will have a chance to be around our 
 energetic and humorous littles and offer their love and gentle care for th
 em. All the participants in this group will get to use their unique talent
 s to bring cheer to patients at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin as well
 . The children at CHW and their families will be comforted by the posters 
 and items purchased to bring them some cheer through a challenging time.\n

 across from the local middle school. They provide apartments designed for
