Together we will transf orm toilet paper tubes into hay feeders for the rabbits living at the Huma ne Society. These hay feeders will also be used by the Wildlife Rehabilita tion Center located there.\n\nThe feeders aren’t just fun to make–they ’re important for bunny health. Rabbits need constant access to things t o chew in order to keep their teeth strong and properly trimmed\, since th eir teeth are always growing. In addition\, these cute feeders will make m ealtime more enriching and engaging for our furry friends\, while stimulat ing their natural instincts to forage.\nActivities\nWe will kick off our t ime together with a story to understand the importance of helping animals. Next\, we will get to work making bunny hay feeders out of upcycled toile t paper tubes. This project is ideal for our youngest kids. They will prac tice scissor skills by making a fringe on each end of the toilet paper tub e and then stuffing it full of Timothy Hay. \n\nWe also invite all of our attending families to consider bringing an item from the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Wish List to donate! Your kids will love shopping for the ani mals!\nImpact\nThis project offers a wonderful way for our young volunteer s to practice kindness\, build empathy\, learn about animal care and make a difference in the community–one bunny at a time!
