Community Proj ects for Seniors Holiday Meal Program delivers meals on holidays\, includi ng Easter\, Christmas\, and Thanksgiving to approximately 4\,000 low-incom e seniors living in subsidized apartment buildings.\nA kid-designed holida y placemat is delivered with each meal. Click here if your family would li ke to join us in making placemats as well!  \nIndividuals who sign up fo r a meal usually don’t have family in the area (or at all)\, don’t hav e a place to go for the holidays (or access to transportation)\, can’t e asily walk or drive (due to weather and/or a disability)\, can’t afford to buy a holiday meal or find it physically challenging to cook. Meal reci pients report that they love their holiday meals\; not just the yummy food \, but also the loving experience volunteers provide them.\n\nActivities\n Step 1: One adult volunteer must register and attend a Volunteer Orientati on Session with Community Projects for Seniors. Register here.\nStep Two: You will be given a specific time on Thanksgiving day to pick up your meal s at Community Projects for Seniors. The ready-to-eat meals will be loaded into your car. You will then drive to the assigned apartment building whe re your family will deliver the meals to each registered senior on the lis t. Some of the seniors may wish to chat and engage. Bring warm smiles and sunshine along with the meals!\n\nImpact\nYour kids will create human conn ections\, help fight loneliness\, and build community by brightening the l ives of older adults who need some extra love.\nWhen &\; Where\nThe Vol unteer Orientation will be held at Community Projects for Seniors: 3073 S.
