Kids will work side by side with their caregivers at Ha ppy Place Cooking Space to prepare a delicious meal for residents of Homes of Hope Street\, a transitional housing facility that supports individual s and families as they work toward stability and hope. The meal will be sh ared at their weekly Tuesday family dinner\, a time set aside for connecti on\, encouragement and community.\nActivities\nWe will kick off our time t ogether with a snack and a story to introduce the importance of food and c ommunity in an engaging way.\nThen we will put on aprons and get cooking! Guided by teaching staff at Happy Place Cooking Space\, this project is de signed for young children and their caregivers to work together using kid- friendly tools to make a simple enchilada bake. Your child will learn so m any great cooking skills\, and you will all walk away with a great recipe to try at home.\nWe are asking each family to bring one 8 oz. container of sour cream. The kids love having something to contribute! (But\, if you c annot - please let us know. We understand!)\nImpact\nThis project is desig ned for young children and their caregivers to experience the joy of givin g back in a hands-on way.
