SUMMARY:Assemble Freezer Meals for Foster Families served by Fostering Comm
 unity
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nApproximately 2\,000 children are in foster care
in Milwaukee County\, and as many as 100 children are removed from their
homes each month\, according to Children’s Wisconsin. Foster families pr
ovide the love\, safety\, and stability children need while they work towa
rd reunification or adoption.\nMaking freezer meals is a simple but powerf
ul way to offer our support to these families. Welcoming a new child into
the home can quickly disrupt routines and add additional appointments to a
family’s already busy schedule. Having easy ready-to-heat meals on hand
for challenging days of transition enables caregivers to focus their time
and energy on helping a child feel safe\, settled\, and cared for.\n\nAct
ivities\nWe will kick off our time together with a story to explore the me
aning and purpose of our project. Then\, we will work in grownup-child pai
rs or groups to assemble two freezer meals for foster families.\nFollowing
assembly\, families will have the opportunity to deliver the meals direct
ly to foster families in the area.\n\nImpact\nBy helping prepare freezer m
eals\, children practice important life skills like following directions\,
measuring ingredients\, and building confidence in the kitchen. Alongside
their caregiver\, they experience teamwork\, shared purpose\, and the und
erstanding of how a small act of kindness can make a big difference.\nThes
e freezer meals will ease the daily pressures of family life for foster fa
milies so they can focus on what matters the most - the children in their
 care.\n\nWhen &amp\; Where\nSaturday\, May 30 from 2-3:30 p.m.\n\nCrossway
  Church - Community Kitchen\n2500 W. Brown Deer Road\nRegistration Informa
 tion\nParticipants: 15 families\nAges: All ages are welcome\, freezer meal
