DESCRIPTION:Help bring joy to our “grandfriends” living in skilled nurs
 ing facilities and assisted living facilities throughout the Milwaukee are
 a by having your children make artwork provided in our “Art Kits for Car
 ing Kids”.\nCoronavirus has left so many of our elderly community member
 s feeling alone due to needing to be isolated from others for their health
  and safety. Now that our playgroups at some facilities have resumed\, fa
 milies can participate and bring smiles to the faces of our "grandfriends.
 " Artwork created by our kids and photos of them can bring great joy. So m
 any of our kids enjoy doing art projects...now they can hang on someone el
 se’s wall to make them smile.\n\nActivities\nKids will complete three p
 rojects using the materials supplied in KIC's art kit. Participants are en
 couraged to add any of their own special touches to the projects to make t
 hem unique and special in ways that only kids can! We loved to see the kid
 s’ creativity with each month’s art projects. Feel free to dig into yo
 ur own art and craft supplies to add this personality.\n\nYou will pick up
  a storage bag that will contain supplies and directions for three project
 s. Details of the projects and pictures of examples of completed projects 
 will be provided in the follow-up email you will receive after signing up.
 \n\nThe recipients of the artwork would love to receive a photo of your ch
 ild(ren) and/or a note to accompany their artwork if you are comfortable w
 ith that.\nPurpose\nKids will have the opportunity to tap into their creat
 ivity and help fill the walls of Milwaukee nursing and assisted living fac
 ilities this holiday season.\nImpact\nKids will learn that something they 
 create can bring joy to others.\nWhen and Where\nPick up a prepared Art Ki
 t from the front porch box at 5524 N Diversey Blvd.\, Whitefish Bay betwee
 n April 15-23 between the hours of noon and 9 p.m.\n\nReturn completed ar
 twork in the storage bag to the same address by April 30 any time before 
 6 p.m. Projects can be turned in any day between the pickup and drop-off d
 ates.\nRegistration Information\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER\n\nParticipant Cap
 : We will have 20 Art Kits prepared for March. If you are unable to get on
 e of the KIC Art Kits\, feel free to create any of your own artwork and dr
 op it off at the same address by April 30. Please indicate how many art ki
 ts you would like during registration by registering the number of people 
 that matches the number of art kits you need (for example\, if you have tw
 o children and you want two kits\, only fill out the information for two p
 eople on the registration form). A follow-up email will be sent out to con
 firm the requested number of kits and provide more information on/photos o
 f the art projects.\n\nAge: All ages\n\nCost: Free\n\nMaterials: Scissors\
 , glue\, paint\, stapler\, and crayons/markers. Use your own craft supplie
 s at home to enhance your projects.\n\nCreativity is encouraged! If your f

 The art projects will be distributed by Operation Sunshine:\n“The purpos
 e of Operation Sunshine is to bring some "sunshine\," encouragement\, love
 \, and support to our elderly community\, primarily in nursing homes and l
 ong-term care facilities (but also isolated at home). Our main goal with O
 peration Sunshine is to support and encourage the nursing home and long-te
 rm care facility residents. We deliver art to facilities all over SE Wisco
 nsin. If residents are able to come out of their rooms\, we deliver a larg
 e stack of art to line the hallways and common areas. If residents are con
 fined to their rooms\, we then deliver a piece of art and a handwritten no
 te to each resident. We put a little sticker and a picture of a kid from t
 he community on each piece of art. We have found this makes it a little mo
 re personal. We have also delivered more than 2000 masks\, painted rocks\,
  "jewelry" made by little ones and so much more. We deliver whatever we ca
 n get that might bring a little light to someone's day.”
