SUMMARY:Art Kits for Caring Kids
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\nHelp bring joy to our “grandfriends” living i
n skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities throughout the
Milwaukee area by having your children make artwork provided in our “Ar
t Kits for Caring Kids”.\nArtwork made by the hands and heart of a child
can bring so much joy to others. While our playgroups at some facilities
have resumed\, not every family can participate. Many would still like to
contribute to bringing smiles to the faces of our grandfriends. Artwork cr
eated by our kids and photos of them can bring great joy. So many of our k
ids enjoy doing art projects...now they can hang on someone else’s wall
to make them smile.\n\nActivities\nKids will complete three projects usin
g the materials supplied in KIC's art kit. Participants are encouraged to
add any of their own special touches to the projects to make them unique a
nd special in ways that only kids can! We loved to see the kids’ creativ
ity with each month’s art projects. Feel free to dig into your own art a
nd craft supplies to add this personality.\n\nYou will pick up a storage b
ag that will contain supplies and directions for three projects. Details o
f the projects and pictures of examples of completed projects will be prov
ided in the follow-up email you will receive after signing up.\n\nThe reci
pients of the artwork would love to receive a photo of your child(ren) and
/or a note to accompany their artwork if you are comfortable with that.\nP
urpose\nKids will have the opportunity to tap into their creativity and he
lp fill the walls of Milwaukee nursing and assisted living facilities.\nIm
pact\nKids will learn that something they create can bring joy to others.\

kit from the front porch box at 5524 N Diversey Blvd.\, Whitefish Bay betw
een Dec. 2-10 between the hours of noon and 9 p.m.\n\nReturn completed art
work in the storage bag to the same address by Dec. 17 any time before 6 p
.m. Projects can be turned in any day between the pickup and drop-off date
s.\nRegistration Information\nParticipant Cap: We will have 20 Art Kits pr

art kits you need (for example\, if you have two children and you want two
kits\, only fill out the information for two people on the registration f
orm). A follow-up email will be sent out to confirm the requested number o
f kits and provide more information on/photos of the art projects.\n\nAge:
  All ages\n\nCost: Free\n\nMaterials: Scissors\, glue\, paint\, stapler\,
and crayons/markers. Use your own craft supplies at home to enhance your p
rojects. Creativity is encouraged! If your family would like to participat
e but is in need of any supplies\, please let Kristin Sherman know after
receiving the follow-up email and KIC can supply your family with these ma
terials.\n\nQuestions: Please contact Kristin Sherman at kristin@kicmke.or
g with any questions.\n\nMore information: The art projects will be distr
ibuted by Operation Sunshine:\n“The purpose of Operation Sunshine is to
bring some "sunshine\," encouragement\, love\, and support to our elderly
community\, primarily in nursing homes and long-term care facilities (but
also isolated at home). Our main goal with Operation Sunshine is to suppor
t and encourage the nursing home and long-term care facility residents. We
deliver art to facilities all over SE Wisconsin. If residents are able to
come out of their rooms\, we deliver a large stack of art to line the hal
lways and common areas. If residents are confined to their rooms\, we then
deliver a piece of art and a handwritten note to each resident. We put a
little sticker and a picture of a kid from the community on each piece of
art. We have found this makes it a little more personal. We have also deli
vered more than 2000 masks\, painted rocks\, "jewelry" made by little ones
and so much more. We deliver whatever we can get that might bring a littl
 e light to someone's day.”
