We All Fit Virtual Assembly with Good Friend Inc.
February 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Our brains have a lot to do with who we are and how we respond to the world around us. Some kids have brains that are wired differently, which might mean they talk, play, or think differently. By learning why those differences exist, we can figure out how we can be good friends while focusing on what makes us similar to one another. Kids with autism need and deserve good friends. Invite your kids to learn more about how to be one!
The first 30-35 minutes of the program will include introductions, a discussion of some basic principles, and the award-winning short film We ALL Fit. Then we’ll engage in further interactive discussions and activities on acceptance and positive peer relationships! We will practice some of what was learned in the film (e.g., upstander tools), and we’ll do a drawing exercise (attendees should have pen/paper and pencil). We also expect to use the poll feature to further engage the kids. We do ask that a grownup attends the program alongside their kids.
Good Friend Inc.’s mission is to create autism awareness, teach acceptance of differences, and foster empathy for individuals on the autism spectrum. Good Friend knows there is beauty in diversity, there is strength in community, there is magic in inclusion. They are a non-profit organization using social emotional tools to establish a culture of acceptance in schools and beyond.
