Serving Pantry Guests at Kinship Community Food Center
December 17 @ 7:45 am - 11:00 am
Kinship Community Food Center (formerly Riverwest Food Pantry) serves families in the Riverwest, Harambee, and surrounding Milwaukee communities. They engage volunteers and neighborhood residents to end hunger, isolation, and poverty. Kinship Community Food Center is dedicated to helping residents build community, improve nutritional health, and reduce poverty through the power of food.
Immerse your child in an environment where they will experience how their capabilities can help others and be mentored in acts of dignity and grace by those very same people. The Kinship Community Food Center embodies its motto: In a community of generosity everyone gives and everyone receives.
Kids will have the opportunity to learn more about food insecurity, the importance of nutritional meals, and how they can help!
You and your child will assist shoppers at St. Casimir’s Parish Hall with registration and grocery selection, by carrying bags, serving snacks, and helping clean up. Hands-on orientation and assignments will be given upon arrival.
We will also be collecting reusable bags to donate to the pantry. Their goal is to eliminate as many plastic shopping bags as possible. If you have extra reusable bags at home, please consider bringing some with you to donate.
