Fall Clean Up for Make a Difference Day

This will be our fourth year participating with UW-Milwaukee and Eras Senior Network for their Fall Clean Up on Make a Difference Day on Saturday, November 9th. We will be assisting elderly individuals in Milwaukee County prepare their yards for winter. We are hoping to connect with one of the same homeowners from last year’s event and also make a new connection in the same neighborhood.
Purpose: We will help two elderly homeowners ease into the winter season by assisting with yard work. In addition, our children will get the opportunity to see the results of their efforts. (Enjoying the beautiful fall weather and allowing the kids to burn off extra energy will be a bonus, as well!)
Impact: We hope that all of the children participating will see that hard work pays off and that they too can have an impact on the lives of Milwaukee’s most vulnerable.
Activities: We will be doing yard work that may include raking, trimming bushes and pulling weeds. A snack will be shared, as well. We understand the attention of each child is different – so rest breaks and socializing with their peers is encouraged to make this a meaningful but FUN day!
When and where: Exact addresses in Milwaukee County will be given once registration is complete for the sake of confidentiality. Event will take place 9:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, November 9th.

Cancellations: Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org asap in the event of a cancellation so we can add waitlisted families to the event.
Participant Cap: 12 families (6 per home)
Age range: All are welcome to help however they can.
Materials: Please bring gloves and rakes for yourself and your child. (We will provide bags. If you happen to have yard tools such as a hedge trimmer or a leaf blower, please indicate that in the registration form.)
